This was the 2nd time that I've been skiing in my life and since the first time was about 4 years ago, and not being that great at it anyway, I was some what rusty. We headed to the rental place to pick up our skies and all the other bits that go with it but sadly the only trousers which were avaliable for me and my mum were XXL so we had to tie them up super tight for them to stay on haha! It was so funny, when we first put them on over our leggings they kept falling down, not the best look if you're skiing down a mountain! Once we were suited and booted, and had fixed our trousers into some sort of position we headed for the mountain.
Literally one of the scariest feelings is clipping your boots into the skies and knowing that you're A.) on a mountain covered in slippery snow and B.) attached to 2 bits of plastic which are built to slide over snow, fast! So there was a small thought in the back of my mind that at any moment I could hurtle off down the mountain but once we set off I was fine.
Me and my mum stayed together for the whole trip as she wasn't very confident about skiing either and my dad went off to do some of the runs up the mountain and would come and ski with us in between. It was great fun!
We stayed all in all for 3 days, we were on the mountains all day and then went back to our hotel in town in the evenings, about 15-20 mins drive away. The hotel was amazing, we had our very own suite with a balcony which looked over the pool and it was very quiet and modern. The hotel also had its very own spa and because it was so quiet we bascially had the outdoor pool and jacuzzi all to ourselves! Making a quick dash from the door to the pool was freezing but it was so warm and nice once you were in, it was perfect! I don't know how the other guests in the hotel could not want to use it, there was just one couple out of the whole hotel that did but that was it. How could you not? It was so inviting with the loveliest crystal blue tiles and lighting, with steam coming off of it and a jacuzzi on the side but who am I kidding! Having all that to share between the 3 of us was a dream.

Ski Boots vs Skies - Panorama of my parents on the mountain
So here are just a few photos me and my mum took, it was so peaceful on the mountains with the best scenery.
On the second day me and my mum had a group lesson with the same teacher who had taught us 4 years before which was nice, he remembered us too which was even funnier so our skiing must have been memorable haha! It definitely helped us and made us more confident, and we even found new routes around the slopes which soon became our favourites.
So the day to leave finally came but we had a few more runs on the slopes before heading home, it was lovely and sunny and more snow had fallen which made it look even more magical. We returned our stuff, said goodbye to the ski resort and our oversized ski trousers and set off back home.
It was a great trip and I didn't fall over once, which was a big confidence boost for me and my skiing abilities and the only thing which was actually the scariest part about skiing was trying to go down the stairs of the ski rental place.
