Bulgaria: What We Ate - Restaurants and Bars

Over the 6 days that we were in Bulgaria we ate alot of food. And when I saw alot I mean loads. I've been home for almost a week now and I've already made my own shopska salad haha! They're just so tasty, really healthy and simply to make. Keep reading for more about where and what we ate.

The Apartment Bar
The apartment bar is probably the coolest and most interesting bar I've been to. It was set out on the whole floor of a building and was just like an apartment. There were many rooms but everyone of them was different; I couldn't get photos of all the rooms but instead made a video which I will upload as I feel it shows this place a lot better than pictures. There was a piano, lots of books scattered around, a cinema room, art all over the walls and there was even a kitchen where you could purchase home made food. It was such a lively place too, there were people playing guitars, another playing the piano and people were singing. It was a great atmosphere.

The Corner Bar
This was the first bar we went to whilst in Sofia, it was really fun and very colourful, there were lights everywhere, it was so pretty. There were lots of different cocktails as well and the music was great. Just beware of the cocktails a little as they were quite strong haha! But very tasty.

Plan B
The first place we ate in Burgas was Plan B. It was in the centre of the town, had amazing food and was very reasonably priced. We sat upstairs where their was a big, modern fire place. It was also decorated with lots of wooden panels, leather look benches and candles. There were non alcoholic cocktails and homemade lemonade which are both my favourite drinks, and we ordered a few different dishes to share. We had chilli prawns with avocado, buttered calamari, a shopska salad each and for drinks Chris had a home made mint lemonade and I had a watermelon one.

Bon Appetit & the Karaoke Bar
This restaurant was actually in a shopping mall but it was so nice, I've never seen such a nice and rather fancy restaurant in a mall before. It was set out like a proper restaurant and there was a big screen in the centre of the room playing old black and white movies. The food was amazing too. I got a Caesar salad which came in an edible bowl and as a side I got a plate of steamed broccoli with melted cheese. I was expecting the side to be quite small but the portions were huge, it was just as well I was really hungry haha!

Afterwards the 5 of us went to a karaoke bar which was also a club, and it was great fun! It wasn't that busy either and the music was great. We all had cocktails but after spying various different milk shakes on the menu I decided to have one of those.

On the Mountain Vitosha
This was a very traditional restaurant and the decor was really something. There were traditional clothes and trinkets on the wall, as well as the waiters being dressed in similar, very smart clothes too and everywhere you looked was wooden furniture and stone walls. The food was excellent and whilst you ate you could watch the chief cook food in the large, stone oven. The location of this restaurant was fantastic also as it was sat on the mountain above the city so you had an unbelievable view of Sofia.

Patisserie Nedelya S-Line
Now if you have a sweet tooth then you will definitely love the menu here. The desserts we're phenomenal and the portions were huge! I had this amazing, summer berry, frozen yoghurt with fresh fruit, puree and biscuit base.

I hope you enjoyed this post, much love xox
