Smile & be yourself

Lets talk about our own self insecurities, everybody has them and comparing ones self to others is pretty common practice these days - there's always something we want to have or be. In fact many of us probably spend so long thinking about the negative side of our appearance and/or personality that we forget about all the good things we should love about ourselves. I know I do. I'm great at picking out my flaws but find it abit more tricky when it comes to picking out things I actually like about myself. Many of my closest friends are the same, the amount of times I've heard a friend say they want smaller thighs, bigger boobs, better skin, different hair etc. are uncountable. But maybe thats just the world now? We spend so much time being insecure about ourselves to notice the great things we've got.

This is something I've been really think about over the past couple of months, why are we so afraid to just be ourselves and be proud of who we are.

I saw this quote a while ago on Instagram haha! But it actually really made me think!

"This Generation is so insecure.
It's okay to think you're the shit.

Stop letting society make you feel uncomfortable in your own body.

You the shit."

But its true! Its good to feel good about yourself. You should! Not enough people do. To be completely honest even when there is something I like about myself  I'm actually scared that somebody will think I'm vain or bigheaded if I said I did. But why?! Why should we feel bad, or think that someone will judge us if we actually like ourselves just the way we are.

We should be happy with the way we look and act and be able to feel comfortable in our own skin, and not let others try to make us feel less about ourselves either.

So from now on I'm going to try and hold my head up higher, smile and not let anyone, including myself, dim my sparkle because I've done that for far too long.

It's okay to think you the shit. ;)
