November Skies

If theres one thing I love about winter its the evening sky. No matter how cold the day may have been; listening to the crunch of frost under your feet as you walk, the icey air on your cheek, somehow a beautiful evening sky can make you forget all of those things. Winter sunsets are almost magical with their bright colours contrasting the bare ground underneath them. I just can't get enough of them and luckily for me theres been plenty this year.
I went out to shoot some photos of a couple of new pieces I had and managed to have the most amazing background ever! It was such a cold day that day too but it didn't seem to bother us that much with such a spectacular view.

I really like this outfit, you can never go wrong with black on black - its classic and timeless. I did however pair it with my forest green, cut off sleeve coat for a pop of colour and I think they complimented each other wonderfully. The materials of the pleather skirt and faux suede coat also meshed well too.

The pleather asymmetrical skirt is from Sammy Dress (find it here), and is detailed with silver zips which add a really nice, subtle detail. The skirt is also high waisted and even has a pair of shorts sewn in (like a skort) which I thought was a brilliant idea - both for added comfort and warmth. I then paired it with my plain off black, ribbed polar neck jumper, tights and boots all from H&M.

I then wore my new coat, also from Sammy Dress (find it here) which is a really lovely dark, forest green, faux suede. It has cut off sleeves which for me isn't something you will find a lot of in my wardrobe but somehow it works - quite 1950's. As well as pleather cuffs with buckles for detail.

I couldn't decide whether I preferred the flash on or off for these photos so I've included both! Which do you prefer?

I really liked how the pictures and outfit turned out and I hope that you all liked it too. The green coat also reminded me a little of Christmas and considering its its almost December, it felt very appropraite and festive to wear!
