Getting a Tattoo is something that has crossed my mind before but has never stuck due to these few simple, and slightly scary thoughts: the pain, the whole "what if I don't like it in a few years time" thought and THE PAIN. A tattoo is something not to be thought of lightly as it will be with you, pretty much for life (or until you save up enough money to have it removed, which by the way is a lot more expensive than having a tattoo in the first place and apparently is more painful?) So when I came across Tinyskinscribbles I was inspired and given the choice of being able to have something I never thought I could but with an outcome that a tattoo never could've give me: change.

Having a tattoo that can be changed over time, to suit ones mood, style and ideas is such a lovely idea. It allows one to be creative and express a side they might not know they had but not have to deal with the terrible worry that its permanent. Being able to change ones mind is definitely a weight off ones shoulders but being a little bit more brave and experimenting is fun too but not many things, especially when it comes to a tattoo, offer both. Take me for example: I love wearing bright coloured dresses and floral prints in the summer but in the winter I wear mostly black and grey and rarely ever wear dresses. My hair I love having bright blonde, but sometimes think of going back to my natural colour or maybe even darker and as of lately I've been using a toner to make it grey/silver (which also has a knock on affect of what I wear and colours to match) - my point is, is that we all change our minds at some point and one small change can also effect how we dress, our colour preferences etc.  and yes, we may go back to our old mind set or style but its nice to be able to change back and forth (esepcially easily) when we choose. This is why Tinyskinscribbles' really speaks to me as a company. Being able to have the ability to have a tattoo, or tattoos, temporarily (or not at all) was definitely something I wanted to try.

About Tinyskinscribbles 

It is a company based in Auckland, New Zealand run by the lovely Zanda and Kyle
who design and hand-draw each of their original, fun designs you see on their website. They created their company on the ideas of self-expression and freedom from permanence - moved by the notion of being able to to wear a new message or design whenever one wanted and having that freedom to do so.
Tinyskinscribbles' mission and vision is to provide a way to express oneself creatively, without having to permanently mark your body, with a design that means something to you personally, whether it be with words, a symbol or simply a cute print that you love.
This artistic company wants to be able to offer its customers, not only a real looking tattoo to express yourself but to be able to change it whenever you please to whatever you please so as to match ones mood, state of mind (and even outfit!).

How long do they last: 

The tattoos will last 2-5 days but can last longer (it just depends how oily your skin is).

What are they made out of:

The ink is specially designed and is non toxic so will not harm or irritate the skin. See the ingredients here. 

Are the ingredients animal friendly:

YES! None of the ingredients have been tested on animals and are vegan. 

How long does posting take:

Depending on where you are in world posting will vary. For local posting it is 2-4 days and for international posting could be up to 2 weeks - but mine arrived within 5 days. 

How do you apply the tattoos:

The design sheets come with instructions on the back of how to apply them - simply clean the area where you want the design to be, cut out and remove transparent film, then place the print on the area face down and dab with a damp cloth or sponge and hold for 30 seconds, then carefully remove the paper and voila! Your tattoo is done. Easy, pain free and temporary. 

How to remove:

Simply rub the area with body oil, or any oil you have (I used coconut oil) and the tattoo will be removed. 

My thoughts and experience

The application was easy, the designs are really cute and all are very different - there are also silver foil tattoos as well which are great for abit of sparkle.
In my experience, I found they lasted around 2-3 days but I do go swimming every night so my skin is in daily contact with chlorine which will have affected the prints. I also found that specific areas had better wear: the tattoo I placed on the back of my arm, above my elbow as well as the tattoo I placed to the side of my elbow lasted the longest compared to the tinyskinscribbles I placed on my forearm and ribcage. 
All in all I think this product is really fun and something different to do and would be great for summer beach days, holidays and festivals.
