The feelings when you find that perfect outfit are a mixture of relief, pride, surprising joy: relief because you're actually ready and didn't give up and wear your safety outfit, pride because lets face it you actually did it?! Be proud of your fashion creation, give yourself a pat on the back girl! And finally that weird feeling of joy but also slight surprise (this is normally accompanied by a slightly goofy smiling expression) because you look pretty damn good and almost look like you know what you're doing when it comes to fashion. Well thats how I feel anyways haha! And its those exact feelings I experienced when I put this little outfit together whilst being away.
I love wearing bright colours in the summer and due to my winter wardrobe being very neutral, grey and black I always feel like investing in a couple of new and bright coloured pieces is a must. Whether its block colours, a floral print it just really gets me into the spirit of summer.
I recently brought this top from H&M and was instantly drawn to it. I absolutely love red, especially as a summer colour and the fact that it was also floral was even better. I was however a little worried because its cropped but after trying it on I simply couldn't leave the shop without it.
It has a V-neck line which is very flattering on all figures, has short yet quite wide sleeves which makes the top feel airy and therefore more heat friendly (as nobody likes tight anything in 35 degree heat!) as well as a zip feature along the side making the top very easy to put on. It is made from very thin cotton so of course is non stretch however this is perfect for summer and because of the need for a zip it also makes this top more figure hugging but isn't restricting.
Another reason why I felt so proud of this outfit was because of the skirt. I brought this last year and never wore it, I don't know why but I never found it an easy thing to pair with anything which is odd because its a simple, plain white A-Line skirt, I mean how could you find this difficult to wear?! Never the less I decided to take it on holiday and discovered that this and the top were made for each other.
I paired it with my plain black, ankle strap sandals, my black and gold clutch bag and of course some oversized sunglasses, what look could be complete without them?
